So there's two side of the coin: you might want to flip on it. But once you've built your blog to a certain level, it's not good to change the domain name. The idea is to maximize the use of keywords wherever you can (don't overdo it though). These are the places that you must put keywords in them:

Blog Description - This is where you want to write phrases that catches attention, but rich with keywords too. If you're ranked even at No.1, but your description is as dull as a bull, nobody is going to click to your blog.

Tags or Labels - Each posts should be tagged or labelled with keywords to help strengthen SEO. Some prominent blog directories, like Technorati, uses these tags to identify your blog for others to search.

In essence, people tend to agree with others when it benefits them more. The challenge to writers when persuading audience is to create a win-win situation and to present their case well and clear. Below are guides to improve yourself to become a more persuasive writer:
Repeat your ideas - Not everybody gets it the first time. Repeat your ideas, again and again. But do it in different forms so that it doesn't get boring. Use examples, stories, analogies, or rewording to restate your ideas.
Give reasons - People will ask 'Why?' to anything. Support your ideas or products with good reasons why they're so or why they're built. This isn't as easy as it sounds. Reasons that make sense convince people. The ones that don't invite debate and trouble. Think carefully before giving any reasons.
Be consistent - Inconsistent thoughts show confusion, uncertainty, hesitation, and many other bad things. Being consistent shows that you have sound logic, rational thinking, and believable character. A powerful technique to show you're consistent is to present your case at the beginning. Then, convince your readers by supporting your case with evidence, examples, and proof throughout your writing consistently, while repeatedly referring back to the initial argument at the beginning of the article.
Support with authority - An idea that has been well accepted socially, supported with scientific facts, or backed by prominent figures with strong credentials will easily get accepted by others. Your challenge is to convincingly show them how your case is supported.
Compare with established ideas - Comparing or relating your case to the ones already established can help convince people. It helps to use metaphors, similes, and analogies. Readers are convinced more easily this way as they only need to see the connection between your ideas to those already established as true.
Relate to your readers - When you're posting an article as a solution to a problem, don't just solve it. Present the problems clearly and make your readers know that you know well the stakes at hand and empathize with their trouble. Your readers will likely be reading your post because they're facing that problem. They'll trust you more if you can show them that you've dealt with the same situation before and know exactly how to solve it.
Belong to a group - When you're writing on articles that target specific demographics (group of people), get into their heads and be (or try to be) part of them. You'll be more persuasive if you understand the specific needs and wants of your target group. Then focus your writing to fulfill those needs, rather than trying to generalize your writing to target the whole masses.

The first thing you should know before blogging for money is the Adsense smart-pricing. It's a technique to improve value to advertisers by reducing the price they pay per adclick, ultimately reducing the pay publishers get per adclick. If you are in the categories whose blogs are smart-priced, then you'll be earning much less than what you were supposed to if you're not smart-priced. This article explains what smart-pricing is, what factors affect blogs to be smart-priced, and how to avoid being smart-priced. What is Smart Pricing from Google standpoint?
Smart pricing was intoduced in April 2004 to improve advertisers Return On Investment (ROI) by adjusting the price of certain clicks. Here are some facts and implications on smart pricing based on the Goggle AdWords announcement:
Prices per click for advertisers are adjusted based on Google network's data of click conversion to advertisers' business actions (e.g. sales, registration, etc).

Ad price estimation is affected by many factors such as keywords and types of blogs. For example, an adclick on videocam placed on a general photography tips blog may cost less than a click on the same ad placed next to specs and reviews on videocam.
The estimation of click values is done continuously and on an ongoing basis that ultimately saves advertisers time and money.
Advertisers get greater value and performance as the ad costs are appropriately set based on the quality and relevancy of information provided by sites/blogs to their customers.
Google explained further in its official Adsense blog about the facts on smart pricing as there are some misconceptions to how it's being implemented:
Ad prices are determined based on many factors: advertisers bid, quality of ad, other competing ads, ad campaign time period, and advertisers' conversion rate.
Click-through-rate (CTR) doesn't affect advertisers' ROI. Smart pricing is introduced to benefit advertisers, and the only thing that matters is the percentage of click conversion to ROI. Publishers' CTR has nothing to do with advertisers' ROI. What matters is clicks that bring in highly relevant customers that result in business actions.
Advertisers gain more from sites that bring in quality clicks (due to readers interest in their quality and relevant content). Generic clicks do not convert much to value for the advertisers. To gain most from Adsense, publishers should improve content quality, bring in targeted traffic, and improves the relevancy of content to ads.
The system of determining ad prices is updated regularly to improve the value to advertisers.
How Smart Pricing Affects Bloggers/Publishers?
Many bloggers have had some experiences on Adsense smart-pricing that affect the type of niche they choose and how they blog. Some of these experiences weren't highlighted by Google's guides. In essence, bloggers need to be aware of smart pricing and careful when first finding a niche to blog about if they want to gain the most from Adsense. I have compiled the most important 'facts' about Adsense smart-pricing based on these experiences around the blogosphere:
Reduced earning - Smart price means that the earning per click is reduced if your blog is being smart-priced. For example, you might earn $0.05 per click on an ad that could actually bring you $0.50 if you're not smart-priced. It also means that the advertisers pay less per click on ads these ads than the actual bidding price.
Affects entire account - Smart-pricing affects the entire Adsense account. If you have multiple blogs and only one of them is actually being smart-priced because it brings in low conversion rate to advertisers, then all the other blogs under the same Adsense account will be affected also eventhough these other ones converts well.
Won't know if you're being smart priced - You won't know which sites are being smart-priced and which are not, and you don't have any data to make any correct guess. What you can do to know whether your blog is being smart priced is by observing its performance or make educated guesses based on your earning per click or CTR.
Smart-pricing can be reversed - If your account is affected, remove Adsense ads from sites that you think are actually being smart-priced to avoid being smart-priced on sites that convert well.
Updated on weekly basis - Smart pricing is evaluated on a weekly basis. Changes are likely to occur the week after you've made any changes that affect smart-pricing.
Setup additional account - Some bloggers have set up additional Adsense account to serve different sites so that well-converting sites are not affected by smart pricing. But this requires approval from Google and actually difficult to get. Publishers need to provide additional company details or have different names for different accounts.

Some bloggers say that blogs with low CTR will be smart-priced. This is contradictory to Google's statement. Darren Rowse has written a long article describing methods available for bloggers to earn money online directly from their blogs. The essence of this guide to making money online, added with some entry of my own, is summarized below.
A number of different monetizing methods are available for bloggers to use. Selection of which methods to use depends on blogs' niche, number of visitors/subscribers, impressions and expertise, among other things.
1. Advertising
Contextual Ads - This is a pay-per-click (PPC) or cost-per-click (CPC) ads system based on blog contents (e.g. Adsense, YPN). It is a good system for blogs with specific niche topic. General blogs or blogs without any niche will not work well because the systems do not have any context to 'lock' on to when selecting what ads to display (resulting in displays of some very general ads).
Non-contextual CPC ads - Display ads without having to relate to context, such as Chitika’s eMiniMalls.
Impression-based ads - Payment are made based on the number of people viewing the ads; only good for blogs with large traffic). Examples: Fastclick and Tribal Fusion.
Text Ads - A text-link on your blog sold as ads by text-link ads programs (such as AdBrite, Text Link Ads, and Bidvertiser). These programs sell your text-links to their own pool of advertisers; the benefit is that you don’t have to go through the hassle of finding your own advertisers. You also have a degree of control over what ads to run and what prices to set.
RSS Ads – Many ads programs display ads in RSS feeds. Some programs only offer this option to blogs with a certain number of traffic, impressions, or subscribers.

If you're new to this, getting too excited to try everything on the list at the same time would be a big mistake. Building your blog from the basics up the ladder - with patience - is the key. It's tempting to try all the different monetizing methods and see if it works more than others, but you'll end up wasting your time too much learning on how to get the most out of the different methods. It's best to start from the most common ones (most likely Adsense) and build up your experience getting the most out of it. Your experience then will make it easier for you to learn other new methods in time. Anyway, Adsense has been reported to bring in the biggest chunk of revenues to many popular bloggers.

If you're new to this, getting too excited to try everything on the list at the same time would be a big mistake. Building your blog from the basics up the ladder - with patience - is the key. It's tempting to try all the different monetizing methods and see if it works more than others, but you'll end up wasting your time too much learning on how to get the most out of the different methods. It's best to start from the most common ones (most likely Adsense) and build up your experience getting the most out of it. The chance is that you know about Adsense and how to make money from it using your blog. If you haven't heard about it, well, you can generate money from your blog and the most popular way of doing that is using the Google Adsense Program. In fact, successful bloggers earn more than $100,000 per year from their blogs.

Adsense - Know Adsense and learn how to optimize its use in your blog. Using Adsense isn't just about putting the codes in your blog. There are tips on how to maximize your earnings by optimizing you Adsense placement, colors, and overall design.
SEO - Learn Search Engine Optimization (SEO). This is needed to help you get your blog to rank high on search engines, e.g. Google. In other words, you'd want your blog to be in the first page of Google search result when somebody googles keywords related to your blog.

Blogging Tips : Make your Good Start!
Did you ever wish the whole world knew what you are thinking? Are you opinionated and fond of writing? Do you want to be read by people who share your interest? If you say yes to any of these, then you should put up your own blogsite now. Or you could blog it here at Tambayan Central.
A blog is a term coined from “Web log” that is owned and managed by an individual containing commentary entries, description of things, pictures, texts, and videos. Blogs have many different types. Your blog can either be an online journal, a photoblog, a sketchblog, a video blog and many others. The most essential thing about a blog is that it is used by an individual to express his sentiments and expertise on things.
Before you get yourself read, you have to be sure that your blog will catch the interest of your visitors. To make sure that your blog is as creative and interesting as it can get, follow these blogging tips.
1. Choose a topic and stay on it
A blog is a usual hub for personal opinions and these opinions are generally accepted as a blog content. However, you should make sure that you stay on the topic you chose. Your readers will find interest in the content related to a specific theme. You cannot go about talking about different things in just one blog entry. Define your topic and work on it. Be specific. You will only get loyal readers once your entries are coherent with your theme.
2. Be informed.
If your blog is intended to showcase your expertise on one thing, make sure that your knowledge is up-to-date. Do your research and watch the news to not get out-dated with facts. If you are giving out your opinion on one thing or if you are trying to sell a product, be sure to check the facts. You do not want to ruin your reputation with erroneous information.
3. Be clear and simple.
You are not assured that your general audience is educated and knowledgeable of technical facts. To make sure that you are understood by your readers, keep your entries clear and simple. Draw away from the use of complex words, acronyms and idioms because readers are not always expected to comprehend your words. A simple explanation will go a long way.
4. Proofreading pays
It is always best to check your spelling and grammar before posting your blog entries. It will only take you a few moments to check if there is faulty content in your posts. You do not want to have to explain about your errors and you surely do not want to humiliate yourself to the world. If you are not confident enough with your proofreading skills, ask a friend to do it for you.

Search Engine Ranking Factors
Aileen was telling me and Marc that her old and widely linked personal blog had a PR3 while her newer less linked work blog had a PR4. I tried explaining that it’s not the volume of links but the quality and (topical) relevance. Marc counters that relevance may not be part of the algorithmic factor in determining Page Rank. He had some real-life examples to show it. I have mine that proves the contrary.

Rickey’s $100-a-day Adsense Challenge
For a couple of days now, I’ve been chatting with Rickey and helping him optimize his Adsense ads on his main blog. With over 100,000 page views on a hot day, he reckons he could have lost thousands of problogging dollars last year for an under-optimized ad layout.
My approach is simple. Set a target based on your existing stats and plug in your ideal figures to see how much you ought to be earning from your blog.
Total Monthly Revenue = total daily page views x CTR x CPC x 30 days
* CTR - click through rate
* CPC - cost per click
So, in his case, our target is a CTR of 1% and a CPC of $0.10 (all figures here are hypothetical and does not reflect any of Rickey’s actual Adsense stats). That gives us 100,000 x 1% x $0.10 or $100/day which gives us $3,000 a month. (Note to Rickey: Sorry my original computation was wrong when I said it was $900/day. My math failed me there.)
How to increase CTR?
1) Ad-blending
2) Increase ad relevance by using section targeting
3) Changing ad layouts or positioning
4) Using ad channels for tracking
These are very basic methods but if you use them very well and by tracking your ad performance, you could hit that good mix which will yield you the highest possible CTR. After just a day of tweaking (if you have 100k page views, a 24-hour experiment is enough), we increased his eCPM by 50% and his CTR by close to 90%.
How to increase CPC?
1) Reducing total number of ads
2) Positioning the first ad to get the highest CTR
3) Targeting higher paying but relevant keywords
This is a bit tricky and more risky to experiment with but once you hit the sweet spot, the returns could be two or three-folds.
So, when Rickey mentioned that we probloggers don’t share the secret sauce like them SEO guys (put name here), I’d like to prove him wrong by inviting bloggers to send in their blog for an AdSense Makeover. Of course, I will not guarantee that I could increase your earnings but I will try my best. Again, I think it’s easier to do this if you have a sizable traffic already (say 1,000 pageviews or higher). And yes, we will also discuss here how we did it and what changes we’ve made and how much we gained from the make-over. Anybody up for it?

How To Use Blogspot with Your Custom Domain
I've known for some time now that blogger or blogspot does their own domain sale. You can easily find this option by going to your dashboard >> settings> publishing. However what I did not know was that they were offering USD10 for a domain name plus a private domain registration and that means your private data will be not visible when people do a whois search. I personally don't mind it but for you who might, this is a great add on. Godaddy actually charge you something like USD9 for this. Blogger would also do all the necessary blog forwarding so no hassle there. What I am not sure is how the dashboard would look like and how easy it would be if you decide to change your platform later, say to wordpress for instance.
That being said, I am very comfortable with GoDaddy and forwarding can be done in a matter of steps as I would highlight below:
Let me first congratulate you on your wonderful new domain. It is a wonderful and exhilarating experience as I'm sure my BFF, Mariuca, who just earlier today did her own move, can attest to :)...
This short tutorial is for those of you who, like me, actually prefer the blogger platform to wordpress simply because of its ease of use [though I'm sure lots of wordpress user might dispute.. but hey.. lets agree to disagree ok ]...:)
Ok.. once you bought your domain...make sure now you are on the GoDaddy dashboard that looks like this:
1. Look for "Forwarding" and click on that.
2. On the next page, click on "Enable Forwarding"
3. In the first box, enter the text "http://www.xxx.xxx where" "xxx' is your domain name. Don't forget the "www"
4. Click on "301 Move permanently"
5. Enter save.
6. This process might take a while so it's best to get it out of the way first
7. Next click on "Total DNS Control and MX Records"
8. This would bring you to another screen where you will see all your domain information
9. In the second table, "CNAMES", look under the "Host" for "www"
10. Follow the line to the right and click on the pencil icon
11. The next message that would appear next is a warning. Just ignore that and click yes
12. In the first box now the letters "www" should already be there
13. In the "Points to Host Name" box replace the "@" with the text: ghs.google.com
14. Click: OK
15. And we are done on GoDaddy side.
Now off to the blogspot side:
1. From your dashboard, go to Settings>>Publishing
2. Click on "Custom Domain"
3. Click on "Switch to Advance Settings"
4. In the Domain box, enter your new domain name so that it would show: http://www.xxx.xxx
5. Very important : Do not forget the "www"
6. Click on Save settings
You are now done! Now that wasn't too painful right?
